Associated Wholesale Grocers

The first of its kind in the United States, Associated Warehouse Grocers, Inc. (AWG) is the nation’s largest cooperative food wholesaler to independently owned supermarkets. Using its state-of-the-art automated distribution center, they are able to serve over 1,100 member companies and over 3,000 locations throughout 28 states from 8 full-line wholesale divisions. This project, located in DeSoto County, MS, included a 895,000-sf building pad with 27 different finished floor elevations, due to Owner’s requirements for freezers and automation, which was achieved via 3-d modeling, Robotic Total Stations and Robotic machine control.

Our work on this project included:

• 360,000 cubic yards of unclassified excavation
• 60,000 square feet of concrete paved ditches
• 65,000 tons of limestone base
• 1 million square foot facility
• 110 acres of clearing and grubbing
• 22,000 linear feet of utilities
• 6,500 tons of chemical stabilization
