Mississippi Department of Public Safety

The Mississippi Department of Public Safety project, located near the State Crime Lab in Rankin County, Mississippi, began in the Spring of 2023 and surrounded 25 acres. Founded in 1938, the Mississippi Department of Public Safety currently has over 1,400 employees throughout the state. This new facility helps to further consolidate, localize, and increase the interactivity and effectiveness of DPS functions. With the completion of the new facility, the Department of Public Safety will be able to have all divisions under one roof for the first time in the agency’s history.

Our work on this project included:

• 69,000 CYD + of Excavation
• 13 Acres of Clearing & Grubbing
• 2,500 + feet of erosion control fencing
• 22,855 SY of lime stabilization
• 5 Acres of fine grading
• 1,000 + feet of sanitary sewer
• 1,800 + feet of water mains
• 3,300 + feet of storm drainage and 43 storm structures
